It is time to sign up for your Summer CSA Box. Home-delivered tasty, North Fork Grub is right around Spring’s corner! I don’t know about you, but I am so ready for fresh, locally grown food. What a long winter!
We will start up officially Wednesday, June 22nd and run till Oct 5th. That is a 16-week season. We will have late Spring Boxes and Late Fall Boxes as we have in the past, but those boxes won’t be part of your pre-paid CSA option.
Your Box is priced at $ 42 a week, plus $ 8 Delivery to your home for the price of $ 50 each week. I think the box feeds a family of 4, or 2 to 3 Veggie and Fruit loving adults quite easily. Your total price for the season will be $ 835 by Credit Card Payment, or $ 800 with a Cash or Check discount. We need payment before May 15th, 2011. You can Pay easily on-line by Credit Card, http://freshandwyld.com/produce-company/products or send a check to: Fresh & Wyld, 1978 Harding Road, Paonia, Co 81428.
If you need some wiggle room or creative financing, pitch it to me and we will try to be creative with you! We love you guys, and we want you all to come back this year and tell all of your pals to eat the Fresh & Wyld CSA this year too! Our garden has jumped from 1/3 of an acre to a full Acre this year, due to the extraordinary efforts of our Farmer, Chris Carrier! and as usual we will be working with other growers in our area to pad out our efforts. Our Box Rocks! if I do say so myself……
Last year we fed 85 families, and this year we can take up to 120 families. We will take very good care of you, and this year the Recipes will be outrageously good. I have a new Sous Chef Caroline Glover, and her farmer/partner Nelson Harvey helping this year with the cooking, growing and writing. I can’t wait for their fresh brains and young, strong bodies to help Chris and I with all the crazy, hard work we do at Fresh & Wyld. S.O.U.L. Cooking Classes, Preserving Classes, Garden Workshops, and Heritage Farm Arts and Homesteading Classes will be on offer again this summer too, so stay tuned as we create our Calendar.
If you know you want Farm Eggs each week, for an additional $ 80 for the season, we can deliver them weekly with your box. You can also order the eggs, as you need them.
If you would like a Farmhouse Bouquet with each box, we can also make that happen for you, aren’t we awesome! Tack on another $ 160 if you would like a sweet, fragrant bouquet on your table through the 16- week Season. That is a huge savings at $10 a bouquet, and we have lots of new flowers to try out on you. We had some very happy flower customers last year!
If you want one of Ashley Krest’s show-stopping, amazing floral arrangement CSA Flower subscriptions delivered by us with your box, email her directly at ashleyk@fieldflorals.com
Ashley wanted me to mention she can do the flowers for a few more weddings and parties this year. Her dance card isn’t completely full yet, though the flowers need to go in the ground soon. Her web site is www.fieldflorals.com
This year, just like last year, instead of allowing people to miss a week or two during the season, and make up their boxes in the Fall or at Thanksgiving, we ask that you gift it to someone or get a friend or neighbor to purchase it from you if you going to be out of town. We can also donate your box to someone in need of food.
That’s it folks! Let’s do it again. As usual your box will have Orchard Fruit, Berries, Greens, Herbs and Vegetables Galore! Local Food tastes the Best! And of course the web site is there for you to add your meat, juice, jam, cheese, flowers, eggs etc to be brought to you with your box each week.
The boxes are delivered in the Roaring Fork Valley on Wednesdays. We drop boxes to your home up and down the Roaring Fork Valley, including Woody Creek, Old Snowmass, Snowmass Village, Aspen, El Jebel, Basalt, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs. Drop-off time varies, due to Nature, traffic and the occasional glitches involved with businesses. We try to do all drops between 11am and 6 pm. You do not need to be home. Most folks like us to put the food in their fridges and we are happy to do that! (we are not to crazy about mean dogs, however) Some folks leave an ice chest on their porch and this also works well.
Along with the most amazingly fresh food, you will receive a newsletter filled with recipes for your box that week and healthy, easy tips and nutrition tidbit. Enjoy! and do spread the word if you are happy!
